Oakville Hornets Logo Contest Results

The Oakville Hornets are pleased to announce the results of the Logo Contest – and the winner is… A TIE. Two logos received approximately 31% of the 1st place votes. The tiebreaker came down to the total votes cast, and the winner is our existing logo.

Given the close vote, the Hornets Executive has decided to incorporate a couple of concepts from the 2nd place design to the existing logo. The new logo will be posted here in the coming days.

A special thanks to all members who submitted designs.

THE HORNETS OMBUDSMAN

The Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Assocation is committed to a fair and equitable environment, where members can communicate openly without fear of retaliation. The Chain of Communication is the Association's formal process for addressing members' concerns. All communication will be treated as confidential.

CHAIN OF COMMUNICATION

Step 1
If you have a question or concern, begin by addressing the issue with your team's Coach or Manager. Where it is inappropriate or difficult to discuss your concern with either of them, or where a satisfactory response is not received, proceed to the next step.

Step 2
Contact your Division Convenor, listed at www.oakvillehornets.org/house/index_list.html should your concern not be addressed at Step 1, or you have proceeded directly to this Step.

Step 3
Contact the VP Rep or VP House League should your concern not be addressed in a previous step. Contact information can be found at www.OakvilleHornets.on.ca/aboutus or by emailing vphl@aakvillehornets.on.ca or vprep@oakvillehornets.on.ca.

Step 4
The Hornets Ombudsman Office is available to all members who have concerns. In instances where it is difficult to follow the formal Chain of Communication, or when you need to consider the options available to you, the Ombudsman can help. The Ombudsman reports directly to the President.

Canadian Women's Hockey League All Stars

The Canadian Women's Hockey League All Stars are playing a four game series against the NHL Alumni (see poster with details). Their goal is to get as many young girls and Associations in the seats as possible. The two charities that these games are supporting are the CWHL and Help A Child Smile (assisting children battling cancer). You can buy a block of tickets to resell and use as a fundraiser OR better yet use it as a party/event for a team. It's an amazing opportunity for girls hockey since we are forming a partnership with the NHL Alumni and therefore gaining more exposure for our amazing game.

Tickets at the door will be $22, therefore with the pricing below, it is an amazing savings. It is an amazing experience for all young girls to see great hockey and also to meet all the hockey players, since both teams stay afterwards for an autograph signing.

100 tickets $1000 ($10 each)
75 tickets $825 ($11 each)
50 tickets $600 ($12 each)
25 tickets $325 ($13 each)
10 tickets $140 ($14 each)
5 tickets $75 ($15 each)
3 tickets $50

Please contact Lori Dupuis at loridupuis@owha.on.ca for tickets and information.
