Midget AA Coaching Announcement 2019/2020 Season

The #OakvilleHornets are pleased to announce the appointment of Gerry Bouwman as Head Coach of the MidgetAA team for the 2019-2020 season.

 

Head Coach - Gerry Bouwman is the current Hornets BAA head coach and has been coaching in the organization for the past 9 years.  He has coached teams to double gold as Lower Lakes Champions and Provincial Gold Medalists and been involved with additional Hornets teams that have won LLFHL Gold, Provincial Silver and Provincial Bronze medals.  Gerry has also coached teams to 7 tournament gold or silver medals.   He has also been the organizations’ Director of Player and Coach development in the two years prior to taking on the BAA coaching role.  Gerry has a vision to enable both the individual and the team to reach their full potential both on and off the ice.  Gerry can be reached at gbouwman@mdd.com. Assistant Coach - Alyssa Baldin is an elite women's ice hockey player who competed at the university level in both the NCAA and CIS.  Selected by the Toronto Furies in the 2013 CWHL draft, she would capture the Clarkson Cup in 2014.  Alyssa has also competed for the Canada women’s national inline hockey team, capturing world championship in 2016.  Alyssa has been the Head Coach of the Hornets PAA team in prior years and has experience with teams winning Lower Lakes Gold Medals and Provincial Championships.  Alyssa is also a member of the Hornets skills and power skating instruction team that works with teams throughout the organization.

Assistant Coach - Michelle Bonello is a women's ice hockey player who competed at the university level in NCAA. Selected by the Toronto Furies in the 2010 CWHL Draft, the first in league history, she would capture the Clarkson Cup in 2014.  Michelle has also competed for the Canada women’s national inline hockey team, capturing world championship in 2016.  Michelle has been an assistant coach within the Hornets organization in prior years and looks forward to returning next season.
